On 3/19/23 we sustained a hard freeze that damaged most of our 2023 blueberry crop. Because of the unseasonably warm temps of late February and early March, most of our field was either flowering or had already set fruit the night of the freeze. Even though it was only 6 hours of below freezing temps, it occurred when our field was most vulnerable. It was heartbreaking to lose what promised to be a bumper crop. :-(
We are still waiting for the freeze-damaged fruit to shake off the bushes, but looks like we will not open for picking this summer.
